RSS
By using RSS (Real Simple Syndication), you can keep yourself up-to-date about what’s going on in your areas of interest. The information is downloaded to your RSS reader in summarised form when it is published. To read the whole text, you just have to click on the source link.
To subscribe to an RSS feed, you need an RSS reader. RSS readers are available both as downloadable programmes and web-based solutions that only require an Internet browser. With the web-based solutions, you can access your RSS feeds from any computer connected to the Internet.
Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Opera also have built-in functions for subscribing to RSS feeds.
Examples of web-based RSS readers:
Google Reader
Bloglines
Examples of downloadable programmes:
Feedreader
Sharpreader
