Mobile strategist with visions

Mads Nyrup works at Telia Mobile in Denmark as a Business Development Manager. This involves trying to realise the management’s visions in the organization. During the autumn, he has also been working with the integration of Telia Mobile and Orange.

Joining forces

“Orange has many customers in the large cities and Telia has lots of customers in the countryside. Together we reach a large part of the Danish population. We are going to combine the best of both companies,” says Mads, who previously worked at Orange.

Telia Mobile is now ready to take up the fight with the two largest providers on the Danish market – Sonofon and TDC. Telia has 1.1 million Danish mobile customers. “It would have been difficult to grow large alone and to be able to compete with Sonofon and TDC,” says Mads.

Holding the line

The department where he works is called Strategy and Planning. Here, Mads and his colleagues make sure the defined business plans are followed and that they are adjusted as market conditions shift.

Mads has worked as a corporate strategist for a long time. He previously worked as a consultant at Arthur Andersen and then at Deloitte. He began working at Orange two years ago.

In leisure hours he likes to be together with family and friends and he is a frequent reader of “Illustreret Videnskab”. He used to swim the butterfly competitively and he swims for exercise several times a week.
