Today 9.30 am US local time, Lars Nyberg opens the Nasdaq market site. The opening and closing bell mark the beginning and the end of each trading day. This is a highly publicized event. Celebrities or executives from well-known companies are invited to conduct the ceremony each day which is considered to be quite an honor.
Yesterday evening the Founder of World Childhood Foundation, H.M. Queen Silvia of Sweden and H.R.H. Princess Madeleine of Sweden closed the market by ringing the Market Closing Bell.
In place in New York are Lars Nyberg, CEO and Andreas Ekström, Head of Investor Relations. The ceremony starts with an introduction of TeliaSonera after that Lars Nyberg will hold a short speech before the countdown begins and it is time to press the button.
