  I joined TeliaSonera Eurasia regional head office in Istanbul in 2010. In my role, I am responsible for coordination of communication activities in the region, hands-on support to the network of communicators in presently 7 mobile operators in 7 countries, and enabling the communication flow between the countries and the head office in Stockholm. I had been working with the TeliaSonera Eurasia team as a consultant since 2007.

  Before that, I was a communication manager at Nielsen, first - in its Russian branch, and later in the regional office for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa. I have about 15 years of experience in communication and business intelligence, always in multinational environments.

  Originally from St.Petersburg, Russia, I've been living in Istanbul since 2006. I am a linguist by profession and am fond of languages, psychology, travelling and discovering cultures.

  Aida Alakbar

  Telesales Team Head, Azercell, TeliaSonera
  

  I was born and grew up in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan. Had my Bachelor Degree from Azerbaijan State Economic University, and recently decided to continue my education, so now I’m a student at Heriot Watt University, Edinburg Business School and working on my Master Degree in Human Resources Management. I joined Azercell Customer Service as a front office representative in 2005. In 2007 was promoted to Training and Development unit in Human Resources Department. During my 5 year experience in that group I participated in founding of Azercell Corporate University, and implementation of new Performance Management System. In 2012, new project launched in our Customer Relations transforming existing Telemarketing group to Telesales, and I, with my Customer Relations and Human Resources experience, and being Sales trainer had a chance to take part in this project as a Telesales team head, where I still work. Summarizing all my 8 years’ experience I would say that this was actually all about serving customers, both external and internal, which I love doing.

  I joined TeliaSonera in 2007 as European Affairs Manager based in Brussels before that I worked for Telefónica O2 also in their Brussels representation. My job is to look after TeliaSonera’s relations with the EU institutions. I am usually focused on issues such as roaming, spectrum policy, investment, network access and net neutrality. I am also Chairman of GSMA Europe’s Regulatory operator expert group. In my spare time I am a passionate cricket fan and player.

  I'm responsible for our Business to Business Strategy for enterprise segment customers at Business Services at TeliaSonera. Having being part of two start-up telecommunications projects and with over 16 years in telecoms after an MBA from one of India's top 10 Business Schools - its great to see the transformation in our industry. I've worked both with emerging markets and very ICT mature markets ranging from Project Management for the New Delhi Cellular Project to working with several 3G licence bids across Europe and had commercial product management, sales and marketing responsibilities as well as project management responsibilities prior to this. I'm a big believer in a strategy being only as good as its execution and think we live in exciting times, in the midst of a radical change in communications.
