TeliaSonera offers a large range of telecommunication services in Sweden and is the leading supplier in the Swedish telecom market. Its services are marketed under the brands Telia, Halebop and Skanova and Cygate.

Liberal legislation with low entry thresholds, high IT maturity among businesses and consumers and a strong domestic telecom industry have transformed the Swedish market into one of the world’s most developed telecom markets with a large number of suppliers and high penetration. Competition has forced prices down in all product areas. Internet based services are undergoing rapid growth.

Telia offers a comprehensive range of telecommunication services in Sweden to businesses, consumers and organizations and is the market leader in all product areas: mobile communications, broadband, fixed voice and data communications.

The company has nationwide, high-quality and reliable networks. Telia can, for example, supply broadband to 95 percent of the households in Sweden and has for seven years in a row received the distinction of Sweden’s best mobile network.

Telia has an extensive network of its own retail shops, customer services and external dealers.

Telia has increased its range of mobile and IP-based services and developed attractive combination offers, including triple play with voice, broadband and TV as one bundle. The number of subscriptions for Telia’s IPTV in Sweden was more than 330,000 at the end of the first quarter 2009.

On January 1, 2008, TeliaSonera established its new infrastructure company, TeliaSonera Skanova Access AB. Under the brand Skanova, the company provides infrastructure services, such as unrefined copper and fiber-based capacity products. Skanova is the leading infrastructure company in Sweden.

By establishing TeliaSonera Skanova Access AB, TeliaSonera took an important step towards becoming an infrastructure company for all, not just TeliaSonera’s own end customers. Skanova aims at being a self-evident and secure choice for all operators in the Swedish market. Skanova operates independently with a transparency based on the concept of equal treatment. This means that infrastructure services are sold on the same commercial terms to both TeliaSonera’s own end-customer business in Sweden and to other operators. In order to retain a strong confidence in the principle of equal treatment, an independent Equality of Access Board (EAB) continuously controls that Skanova meets the requirement for equal treatment.

TeliaSonera Skanova Access AB is a limited liability company with a board of directors of its own. The company is independent of TeliaSonera’s end-customer business. It is TeliaSonera’s ambition that the establishment of Skanova and EAB will lead to increased dynamics and willingness to invest in the Swedish telecommunications market and a reduced need for detailed regulation and price regulation.
