Yoigo - a challenger in the Spanish mobile market

TeliaSonera's Spanish mobile operator, Yoigo, successfully launched its low cost and easy-to-use mobile services on December 1, 2006. The initial commercial offer includes the same prices for both post- and prepaid subsctriptions and customer intake has exceeded all expectations.

Yoigo offers mobile operations based on its own 3G network. In order to provide customers with national 2G-coverage, Yoigo has a roaming agreement with Telefonica.
The approach is a benchmark low-cost operation with a sharp focus on mass-market customers. The business is based on a streamlined organization with outsourced functions, including network roll-out, maintenance and operations, customer care, logistics and warehousing.

In addition to voice services, Yoigo offers SMS, MMS, mobile internet access, mobile portal services and international roaming.

Yoigo is the brand of TeliaSonera's subsidiary Xfera. TeliaSonera owns 76.6 percent of Xfera. Other shareholders are ACS, which holds with 17 percent FCC with 3.4 percent and Telvent with 3 percent.
