Strong position in mobile communications, broadband and cable TV
TeliaSonera focuses primarily on mobile services, broadband services and cable TV in Denmark. The services are marketed under the brands Telia, Telia Stofa and Call me.
TeliaSonera is the third largest supplier of telecom services on the Danish market. The company has introduced a number of innovative offers and has been a driving force in the development of services based on a fixed price. Mobile prices in Denmark have stabilized due to the consolidation of the industry that followed after a period of price falls. Still, Denmark, in addition to Finland, has some of the lowest mobile prices in Europe.
The acquisition of the Danish operations of Orange in 2004 brought 630,000 new mobile customers and significantly strengthened TeliaSonera’s market position.
TeliaSonera offers broadband services via a cable-TV network and ADSL and mobile broadband access via HomeRun. Denmark has one of the highest broadband penetrations in Europe.
