TeliaSonera

Flexible working

TeliaSonera does not differentiate between telework and other work. Many employees at TeliaSonera telework or work flexibly independent of time and place utilising different ICT services in the workplace, on business trips, at home or in telework centres.

TeliaSonera always encourages the use of flexible working methods when it is best for the job the person is doing. As far as rights and duties for the flexible work are concerned they are the same as in the fixed workplace. A move to permanent telework is always voluntary and can be changed at anytime when either employee or employer feels it is necessary.

Both TeliaSonera Finland and TeliaSonera Sweden have signed the European Trade Union Confederation's treaty on telework (pdf), (2002). Furthermore, in 2003 TeliaSonera was also a partner in a project supported by the EU in which the goal was to define common ethical guidelines for global work (pdf). The rationale behind the initiative was that a voluntary code of practice - based on ethical considerations - can help multinational enterprises and their networks of business entities to improve the quality of international operations. At the same time, a code of practice can foster responsible and foresighted conduct towards employees and the societies in which they operate.
